Google AcquisitionsAP - U.S. and EU regulators have cleared Google Inc.'s planned acquisition of Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc. for $12.5 billion. If other regulators approve and the deal closes, it would be Google's largest ever. It would be nearly four times larger than the previous high, the 2008 purchase of online advertising company DoubleClick for $3.2 billion.

 
Puget Sound Energy may give $50 credit for outage

Puget Sound EnergyAP, BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Customers of Puget Sound Energy who are without power for five full days are entitled to a $50 credit on their bill.

Those people should contact customer service, said spokeswoman Gretchen Aliabadi. It's likely to add to the expense of the outage that already is costing the utility tens of millions of dollars, she said.

 
Gregoire calls for $3.6B transportation package

AP, Olympia, Wash. - Gov. Chris Gregoire is asking the Legislature to pass a ''bold agenda'' that includes a sales tax increase, school reforms and a $3.6 billion transportation package.

In her State of the State address Tuesday, Gregoire proposed a 10-year transportation package she says will create about 5,500 jobs a year to maintain roads across the state. Gregoire says she will ask the Legislature to pass a $1.50 fee on every barrel of oil produced in Washington.

Tales of a Reformed Android User: Going Windows Mobile 7.5, Mango StyleFor the past couple of years I’ve proudly touted the virtues of the Android OS.  Partly, as an alternative to the iPhone and a more web friendly alternative to the corporate email focused Blackberry.  Moreover, having used older versions of Windows Phone, I had steadfastly refused to even consider their 6.5 and even 7.0 updates.  That all changed when a friend walked me through Windows Phone 7.5 aka “Mango” and I have to say I’m hooked.
